Digital forecasting system - functions at a glance
Intelligent models, precise weather data and clear recommendations - bundled in one system.
AI weather forecasts
Precise, locally adapted weather forecasts based on modern AI models - for better decisions in the vineyard.
Powdery Mildew model
Recognise the risk of powdery mildew infection at an early stage. The model shows you when and where there is a risk.
Downy Mildew model
Recognise the risk of downy mildew infection at an early stage. The model shows you when and where there is a risk.
Recommendation for action
Receive clear recommendations on when treatment makes sense - based on current prognoses and models.
Precipitation history
An overview of all precipitation in recent weeks: Filter by week, month or year over the last few years.
Spray weather
Find ideal spraying windows with reliable forecasts for rain, wind and temperature for the optimum application effect.
Phenological models
Automatic forecasts for the development stages of your vines adapted to the grape variety - for precise planning of work and plant protection.
Leaf wetness model
Monitor periods of leaf wetness without a dedicated weather station - essential for understanding the infection risk of many diseases.
Plant protection history
The plant protection history helps you to compare past treatments with infection events and recognise possible gaps in protection.
Frequently asked questions
Weather forecasts are generally not produced at weather stations, but in large-scale weather models that are calculated on supercomputers by institutions such as the German Weather Service.
VineForecast uses these models as a basis, but goes one step further: an AI incorporates additional location factors such as slope, exposure and altitude and adjusts the forecasts accordingly. This makes the forecasts much more precise than a direct conversion of the weather models into disease forecasts.
It is difficult to make a generalised statement as the precision can vary from location to location. VineForecast is based on the high-quality weather models of the German Weather Service and refines these for local conditions using its own AI models. This allows disease risks to be predicted for areas of up to 50 × 50 metres compared to the usual 1-2 km grid resolutions of the original models.
Yes, every year we carry out field trials in which we compare our forecasts with the recommendations of local cultivation advisors. We regularly publish the results of these trials on our blog.
