Since 2019, VineForecast has been helping wineries to minimise the risk of crop failures due to fungal infections or weather risks and to optimise their spraying plans. To do this, the system calculates disease and weather forecasts and comes without weather stations out. Instead, a Artificial intelligence Microclimate and disease predictions with a resolution of 25 m x 25 m.
Our goal is a responsible and realistic reduction of crop protection to the necessary minimum. Especially in times of the Farm-to-Fork Strategy („Green Deal“) or the ban on pesticides, we want to give as many farms as possible access to the latest developments in research and technology. Until now, however, users have had to register in order to gain access to VineForecast's infection forecasts.
The VitiMap - Quickly and clearly to your destination
From now on, winegrowers can get an overview of the infection pressure at over 360 different locations.
The VitiMap is a forecast map for Peronospora and Oidium that is based on the VineForecast forecasting system. The clear and practical app can be accessed via any internet browser and is also optimised for mobile phones.
The system is already in operation in all growing regions in Germany and Austria. In addition, various sites are operated in France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

The contents of the VitiMap
In the first version, winegrowers will find the following data:
- Peronospora forecasts (four days + one day retrospective)
- Oidium forecasts (four days + one day retrospective)
- BBCH stage
- Leaf surface
- Different grape variety models
The VitiMap contains a clear map view and a detailed view for each field. The infection risks are shown in the traffic light colours green (low), yellow (medium) and red (high).
